BWD Search specialises in financial services recruitment in the UK, US and Canada, placing top talent with leading companies in the industry across wealth management, pensions, actuarial, sales, distribution, and compliance. This sector is candidate-driven, with niche skills in consistently high demand. With a strong network of 'high value' candidates across financial services specialisms, the BWD leadership team wanted to establish a quicker, more consistent, and innovative way of connecting in-demand talent with their clients, in real time.

Previously, when BWD Consultants surfaced high value candidates, they adopted individual methods of speccing these candidates out. This meant both a lack of consistency and minimal understanding of return on investment from their activity. They also lacked an up-to-date view on their clients' emerging needs, meaning that clients, candidates, and BWD were missing opportunities.

The Leadership team's concept was an automated 'candidate speccing' system.

'BWD Connect' would provide clients with immediate access to in-demand skills and tailored talent matching. Candidates would benefit from a high-touch proactive approach to market, boosting their visibility and facilitating more rapid connections. Internally, BWD Consultants would benefit from a clear framework and optimised workflow, streamlined by systems automation. The objective was to build a platform which would leverage technology and automation, whilst retaining a personal touch. This would facilitate a professional and uniform approach to the market for both clients and candidates, enhanced ability to track and report on activity and ROI, and improved outcomes. Ultimately, this approach should generate both more placements and new business development leads.

FMP Consulting worked closely with BWD Operations, Marketing and small working group of Consultants, leading the design and build of an innovative product which enables real time matching of client preferences and high value candidate skill sets, implementing an end-to-end workflow supported by the existing tech stack with added functional 'matching' capability and delivering a client and candidate marketing strategy.

The project was successfully delivered over a 3-month period and has already generated significant revenue opportunities.
