Embarking on my professional career in 1993, I found my calling in recruitment after an "unexpected detour" from my Archaeology studies at Reading University. Starting as a Researcher for a boutique Life Sciences Executive Search firm, I quickly embraced the challenges and opportunities presented by the industry's nascent landscape, armed with little more than a telephone, fax machine, rolodex cards and sheer determination. I remember being in total awe of the Partners. I could see that they were serious, professional practitioners making good money, and I wanted to emulate that!
Over the following decade, I navigated diverse roles and sectors within recruitment, from running a commercial high street agency desk to the boom times of IT Contract recruitment in the late 1990's, and onto leading international social care recruitment projects for public sector clients. Each role presented its own set of challenges and achievements, but throughout it all, I remained committed to delivering exceptional results for my clients, consistently ranking amongst the top performers.
From 2010 to 2021, I developed into leadership roles at renowned firms Harvey Nash and Berwick Talent Solutions (an Odgers Berndtson company). These roles afforded me amazing experiences in strategic account management, continuous service improvement, portfolio sales and new market proposition development.
Joining Korn Ferry in 2021 marked a pivotal shift. As VP & EMEA Regional Delivery Leader for the Search Innovation and Delivery team, I took on the not insignificant challenge of driving operational excellence and productivity gains for our 160-strong Executive and Professional Search Associate community across the region. Through a strategic focus on People, Process, and Technology, I led initiatives that drove progressive change and heightened search delivery capabilities.
In 2023, faced with the triple whammy of marriage breakdown, redundancy, and the loss of my wonderful, inspiring Mum to cancer, I found myself at an inflection point, which prompted time out and deep reflection.
In response, I founded FMP Consulting, named after my daughter, Freya. With a wealth of experience to leverage, and a sincere desire to make a meaningful impact, I am embracing this new chapter with vim and vigour!
